Sunflower Shoots are a nutty way to add a crisp crunch to soups, salads, sandwiches, sushi, and more. Some of us like to eat them pure– like snap peas or baby carrots. They are especially rich in protein and contain high levels of vitamins A, B, D, and E. When it comes to flavor, it’s kind of like a sunflower seed in crunchy lettuce form.
Shelf life: 7 to 10 days when stored in the fridge. Handle with care on the way home as shoots can bruise and oxidies turing brown similar to bananas. They will still be tasty and edible, just a little banged up.
