No... Really... This mushroom tastes like bacony goodness...
In its raw form, pink oyster mushrooms can have a fresh seafood smell, but that quickly changes when heat is applied, and the flavors and smells present more like a roast ham or bacon. Pink oysters are a great way to enhance your favorite meat dishes or turn a pork recipe into a meatless option. We love to pan-fry them in butter or olive oil and add them to our favorite recipes. Oyster mushrooms have a meaty texture and act like sponges, soaking up whatever flavors they are cooked in.
Shelf life: 3 to 5 days, but for best flavor, use within 1 to 2 days. We do not recommend eating raw though some do; always fully cook any oyster mushroom for the best flavor and food safety.
